Nestled in the Ahuachapán region of El Salvador, our coffee plants flourish at around 1,372 meters within the Apaneca-Ilamatepec mountain range. The active volcanoes, including Santa Ana and Izalco, enrich the soil with volcanic ash, contributing to the complexity of this single-origin coffee. The consistent wet and dry seasons provide ideal conditions for this Bourbon variety, allowing the cherries to mature slowly and develop rich notes of cocoa, brown sugar, and a nutty finish.

Producing Our Single-Origin El Salvador Coffee Beans

In this growing community, sustainability guides all agricultural operations. At our farm, we protect 45 hectares of native forest, which not only preserves the natural landscape but also supports the biodiversity crucial to our coffee plants. Our rainwater harvesting system collects 5000m³ of water annually, reducing reliance on external water sources and allowing us to process our coffee efficiently and eco-consciously. Coffee pulp generated during processing is repurposed as a natural fertilizer, further enhancing the fertility of our volcanic soil.

The evolution of this community is also reflected in our commitment to social responsibility. We provide clean drinking water, maintain housing for workers, and offer medical care through the on-site clinic. Our support extends to local schools, and we organize community activities that strengthen the bonds among those who live and work on our coffee farm in El Salvador.

Enriching Coffee Production Through Innovation

Despite challenges like coffee rust and other plant diseases, the Salvadoran community remains resilient. We continue to innovate, introducing resistant hybrid varieties and optimizing planting densities to create microclimates that reduce disease spread. Each batch of Lacón, processed with traditional washed methods and sun-dried on patios, is not just a product of the land but also a testament to the enduring spirit of the community that brings it to life.
